Why does this matter you may ask?

What is link building?

How does link building work?
Link building works by finding other websites to link to yours via various different methods. Link building at its most basic form involves getting a webmaster, site owner or content editor to hyperlink to your website / a page on your website via a clickable anchor text.
The process involved with “getting a link” varies dramatically from website to website. The art of link building itself is being able to find link building opportunities and to earn or “get” those links live.
Generally – some links are “influenced” in that a website owner or a content editor may earn a commission, be paid or offered a link exchange / content exchange. Some links are “earnt” i.e. a website owner or editor discovers great content on another website and decides to link to it.
Is link building important in 2021?
Yes it remains important for 2021 and will remain important indefinitely. Links are what make the web work, so their value will always remain. If websites didn’t link to one another, search engines like Google wouldn’t be able to find great content & wouldn’t be able to expand their index.
How Google and search engines alike perceive links will ultimately change in 2021 as it has through previous years.
Every so often Google will release a “Algorithm update” or a “Core update” that may reevaluate how Google evaluates link quality. It is these updates that can cause substantial changes to how websites receive weighting for the links that they may have.

What are Blackhat Links?

What is a Google Disavow?
